How many of you have heard of the book "The Secret" which exploded onto the scene back in 2006? I'm sure many of you have. The Secret talked about the Law of Attraction and how you can manifest anything into your life.

Whether you believe it or not Dan Lok is here to explain his take on it.

He says that some of you might be over complicating things where as in fact it's actually very simple. It's not some magical ritual or some ancient secret but a very simple thing to understand.

Your dominant thoughts attract things into your life and you do this using your own experience and knowledge. He goes on to explain what this means is that the better you get in life, the better things you will attract into your life.

What I quite like about Dan Lok's approach here is that he takes a more scientific approach based on what psychologists already know and understand.

He goes on to  describe strategies that you can use to manifest things into your life.

Confirmation Bias

We naturally seek out information that confirms what we already believe. If we are curious or interested about something in our lives, we all of a sudden notice it everywhere.

If you're looking to get pregnant, you suddenly notice pregnant women everywhere. If you're interested in buying a blue car, you suddenly notice blue cars everywhere.

This is also known as 'priming'. So when you place something onto your vision board - it enters into your consciousness and you become more focused on it.

As you experience life, your internal filter allows the information through that confirms your expectations based on your beliefs. This is 'confirmation bias'.

You unconsciously reject information that isn't in line with your beliefs and accept information that is more in line with your beliefs. This is your "world view".

Notice Things But Don't Pay Attention To It

You need to be aware of your filtering and realize "it's not what happens to you but how you think about what happens to you".

In other words it's how you interpret the situation that matters, and not the situation itself.

Dan Lok says "It's not the world outside of you that dictates your circumstances or conditions, it's the world inside of you that creates the conditions of your life".

So you get to decide whether you should pay attention to a situation or not. You are in control of what you focus on and spend energy on.

This means that you can direct energy towards the things you want and avoid wasting it on things you don't want.

This is how it all works. You get more of what you focus on.

Controlling Information

Many people think the Law Of Attraction simply works by thinking positive thoughts but that's not the case.

You have to make an effort to feed yourself the knowledge and positive attitude that helps you move towards acquiring those desirable things in your life.

You need to take control of what information you expose yourself to. It's been proven that news actually has an adverse effect on people.

If you continuously expose yourself to all the bad things that are happening in this world, it takes effect. It evokes unhelpful emotions.

It's up to you to decide what information you pay attention to. Be careful what you choose.

The Power Of Words

We pay far more attention to the things we say to ourselves, so beware!

Dan Lok says "What you say to yourself becomes your self-fulfilling prophecy".

Language is very powerful and so you should use it wisely. If you keep saying to yourself "I want to be a millionaire" - you remain in a perpetual state of "wanting", which means you never get there - you're always wanting.

You never actually achieve it because 'wanting' means you still don't have it.

Instead - say "I am". So if you want to be rich and successful, say "I am rich and successful". Changing a single word can make the difference between having and not having.

You need to imagine yourself being the person you want to be first in order to become that person. You need to act and behave like the person you want to be.

Let us know what your thoughts are.
